“Sleep deprivation” is one of the many off shoots of newly developed technology led world. The materialistic and insecure world, where people are more interested in minting money and job security and least concerned about their health. The old maxim “health is wealth” is now considered passé and has been replaced by contemporary one “money is essential for happiness”.

Sleep is the most significant part of our lives. Not getting enough sleep in the night means not retaining enough energy on day time to perform duties; hence reducing productivity. One wrong conception which is essential to doff is that spending time on sleeping means wasting time. Various studies have stated that eight hours sleep for an adult is necessary.

Lack of sleep also results in mood swings. Lack of sleep makes people cranky and cantankerous and they are often affiliated with bad behavior which can also lead to troubled relationships. Sleep deprivation also affects decision making ability.

Sleep is equally important to maintain the good health. Not getting enough sleep can create health related issues like blood pressure and other heart diseases.

History: NASA first came up with the concept of memory foams in 1966. They were actually made to provide safety and comfort to astronauts but never to be used practically.
